Coffee in Good Company with Beth Thoren, Patagonia

Coffee in Good Company is a series of 30 minute sessions on how we can achieve better business in Europe through stakeholder governance – organized by B Lab Europe’s Interdependence Coalition.

In this session, we had the pleasure to host Beth Thoren.

Beth joined Patagonia as Director of Environmental Action at the turn of the year to help the company address the most pressing issues of our time, including the commitment to reach carbon neutrality by 2025, across the business and supply chain, and supporting over 1,000 grassroots environmental NGOs around the world. She has spent the last nine years in not-for profits protecting our oceans and fragile planet, including her last position at Client Earth, an environmental NGO which uses the power of the law to create systemic change.

Over coffee, Beth joined Maria Correa, B Lab Europe’s Head of Marketing and Comms, to talk about the work that Patagonia does to ensure the interests of one of its key (but silent) stakeholders – the environment – are addressed in all that the company does and how the company stays true to its mission statement: “We are in business to save our home planet.”
